She scented at a shrub, lips curling away as she inhaled deeply. Her spotted pelt in the brown undergrowth about the river caused her to be all but invisible, and her own personal scent smelled little different from the territory she was patrolling. As usual, Dappledfoot was alone, but she was far from vulnerable; pity upon any who thought that because she was female and alone that meant attacking her would be easy. Her muscles rippled and her eyes and ears lifted suddenly, though no other part of her moved, and she watched a cautious rabbit curiously. Suddenly she sprang; the rabbit didn't even have time to squeal.

Kaleb watched the she-cat kill the rabbit he was tracking. Him being new to the forest, (read bio) walked up to greet her."hello, im Kaleb whats your name?" he said swishing his white tiped tail, knocking up some leafs. She was a pretty she-cat.

She sat up sharply to give him a surprised look. There's a fox... Talking to me? She flicked her tail sharply, narrowing her pretty eyes at him in suspicion. "Dappledfoot," she rumbled cautiously, standing over her rabbit uncertainly. She was ready to chase him out if he made one wrong move--but if he could talk... Why not see what he had to say?

"Wow you're the first cat I've ever met exept for bootsie!" he smiled and stood up wagging his tail.

"Bootsie?" she asked, confused. What kind of-- and then her eyes fell upon his collar. A... kittypet... fox? "You were with the Two-leggers?" she asked, eying his collar. It was a stupid question, really, considering that was the only way he could have gotten a collar. But still, she'd seen dogs, but never foxes! Knowing what everyone said about kittypets, she relaxed some and took a seat beside her kill. "Well then, Kaleb, what are you doing away from your Two-leggers?"

"What are Two-legs?" he asked. "oh you must mean Ann! She took care of me when I was abandoned by my parents. I desided to leave to see the world and learn, that is why I left, I keep this collar to remember her" he smiled.

She sneezed; her version of a 'discreet laugh.' "Right. Took care of you. Two-legs hold cats hostage. Apparently, they keep foxes too. They mess with their heads, make them think they need the two-legs. Hmph. You ought to just forget about them, little fox. They're bad for you. Tore up the last forest we were in, and my poor father was taken so far away from his home that he couldn't even smell it, just to be locked in someone's house. No, little Kaleb--you're better off free. Like me and the Clan--and my mother. My father'd give anything to be in your position." She flicked her tail sharply; she had a very low opinion about two-legs.

Kaleb growled, "That is not true they tried to set me free but I would not go! Ann would NEVER do that!" His tail still wagged, and he calmed down. He didnt want to anger this cat, she could hurt him.

She snorted. "It is true. They made you not want to go, you little fool. But I will allow you your pretty beliefs. I'm sure they comfort you. Tell me, though, little fox--why have you traveled here, of all places? We are not a place one such as yourself is likely to find especially welcoming."

"What are you talking about, not being welcome here?" he asked very confused about everything that came out of this cat's mouth. "They fed me steaks, meat not cat food, they let me hunt in the barn in the yard, roam their forest land, and come in and out as I please."

"You're on our territory. Beasts like you--foxes, badgers and their ilk--are notorious for killing our kits and ransacking our camp. Your lucky you came across me; some of the other warriors would have attacked you on sight." She snorted, flicking one ear back. "Not as good as fresh kill, the perfection of knowing that the food your eating was killed that day. Here--try." She stepped back and pawed the rabbit towards him.

"Thanks thats my faverote, well under fish" he nomed the rabbit. (XD) Keleb licked his jowls and yiped, "Thanks, do you like fish?" he turned his head to the river and stood by the shore, a fish swam by and he scooped it up useing his paws, "I'm not like that I would NEVER hurt a kit. Do you want some fish?" the large fish flapped and he batted it into a rock killing it. He carried the fish to the cat and put it down in front of her.

She crinkled her nose, eying it. "No--I'm not hungry. I was just doing border patrol, and I like to bring food for the freshkill pile." She shook out her pelt absently. "Good to know--if you ever threatened our kits, I'd be the first one on your tail."

"Suit yourself" he yipped, swallowing the fish whole. "What do you mean by your kits?" he asked still not understanding the "Clan" conspept

"We live in a clan--that's a large group of cats. Some of them have kits. As a clan, we're very protective of eachother, like... One big family. Loyal to eachother before anyone else." She crinkled her nose to show how important she thought this particular 'rule' was. Clan before anything else!
