Moonstar shivered as their pelts touched. Never before has she sat with a tom in moonlight like today. Or has she? She didn't remember and she did not want to remember. She sat there thinking of what to say.
"Um...how long do you think it will be until you find someone to give the rose to?" she finally asked. What else could she say? Nothing else came to her mind.

"When ever she loves me back." He purred. His brillaint blue eyes were like a presious gem. He gazed at the moon and waited for a responce.

"oh." Moonstar said. She wondered who the she-cat was. It could be any of the cats in her Clan. But who? She wanted to know but didn't ask, it wasn't her bussiness. But hwat if she asked? She debated for a long time. She ended up with the decision to ask, she was curious like all cats.
"Who's the lucky cat?" she asked. "You don't have to answer if you do not want to." she said quickly to say that she wasn't ordering him to tell her.

He turned his head to her, his sapphire blue eyes filled with love. The moonlight shone off of his crow black fur, his ear twitched, and his sleek black tail swished like a black snake with orange stripes slithering across the undergrowth. He took a deep breath and meowed, "You...."

Moonstar froze. "Me?" she asked. Of all the cats in her Clan, why her? "why? I mean, of all the cats in the Clan. Why me?" she asked her eyes wide glowing emerald eyes watching him.

"Because, you are beautyful, smart, nice, kind, well you are perfect." He purred.

Moonstar blushed so much that it showed. She couldn't see that she was perfect for anyone. She looked at her paws so that Lynxpelt wouldn't see. She felt her cheeks glow redish-pink underneath her long sparkled white fur. What the moon can do to natural things. She looked at him with out picking up her head and only a while later did she slowely pull it up. When she felt that the blush has left her so that she wasn't pink anymore.
She did like him, a little. But she never thought it was her who he liked. She pricked up her ears as she heard something unnatural. It was the moon saying what she was trying to figure out. "Moonstar. Lynxpelt." she wispered quietly. "Moonstar. Lynxpelt." She wondered if he could hear it too.

Lynxpelt's ears pricked up at the sound, the moon was speaking, "Moonstar. Lynxpelt. Moonstar. Lynxpelt." The moon was talking, how weird. He meowed calmly, "Well, do you love me too?" he asked eyes filled with hope.

Moonstar looked at him as he asked her if she loved him too. Of course she did. And now that the moon said thier names together, well, it was meant to be, she told herself. She looked up at him and smiled. So long she searched for someone to love, waiting for the moon to finally wisper two names, all it took was too names. Hers and now Lynxpelt's. "Yes," she said. "I do."

He smiled he finaly could give up the search, he placed the rose, witch was now reder than ever, in front of her. "I want you to have this." he meowed.

Moonstar looked at the rose he set before her and back at Lynxpelt. She picked up the rose which was red as a scarlet ruby. This rose must have been so precious to Lynxpelt, if he carried it everywhere. And now it was for her, the one he chose who loves him back. She smiled at him.
"Do you want to walk a little more, maybe show me a few other places you have found where the moon looks good, and then go back to camp?" she asked. She was confused a little by what she just said but still waited.

"I would be happy to." he purred, "There is a large hill this way" he pointed with his orange and black tail to the east., "there is a great veiw, you can almost touch the moon, and hea- I mean see it clearly." he almost let loose the secret, that he could hear the moon.

Moonstar looked where Lynxpelt pointed. She looked forward a little and then started walking that way. She looked back to see if he was following even though he was supposed to be leading. She looked at the rose from the corner of her eyes and saw the beautiful plant. How could it have lived for so long? And out of the ground not connected to anything. She understood a rose that was still in the ground, but one that was not connected, she didn't understand how that was possible.

Lynxpelt ran up beside her and purred, "I know a great place to see the moon, it is a large hill east of here." his tail fliscked east

Moonstar smiled at him the rose still in her jaws. "okay." she said and started walking the way he said.
