Silverstar yawned and slowly opened her eyes the bright sun was seeping through the curtin of lichen. Silverstar stood up and streched. She padded out of the den into the camp.

She dropped the fish in the freshkill pile then went to stand just outside the leader's den. She mewed for entrance. "It's Dappledfoot."

"come on in!" she meowed from the other side of the lcihen curtained enterance. She was sitting in a small bed of moss eating a fish.

She nosed her way through the curtain, tail waving slowly in the air, the tip twitching with agitation. She sat down and meowed flatly, "I found a foxpet. He left his humans and knows how to talk. I'd like him to join our clan--I'd train him to be a warrior! I think it would bring our clan much prosperity!"

"A foxpet?" she said very confused, "is this a joke" she murred in laghuter. "And a TALKING foxpet at that, another murrow of laugher came out. Her silver pelt shone brightly almost illuminateing the cavern of her den.

She narrowed her eyes. "It's no joke, Silverstar. There's a foxpet at our border. We talked. Smell me! I smell like a fox! He caught a fish and I brought it back--how would I have caught a fish without getting wet?" She fluffed up her fur indignantly. She was a cat well-known for having a low tolerance for disbelief and, while she would not openly fight with her leader--she would not sit by while she was disgraced in silence. She would quicker simply stalk away and become even more reclusive.

"Why not?" she meowed. "It's not much different than having a very large cat!" Her tail thrashed and her eyes narrowed to mere slits; she was not a happy cat.

She snorted, eyes flashing. She stood and, without a word, strode out. Her tail and head were held high, defiant. Clan above all, she thought angrily. That means not questioning your leader. But this is stupid! So what if a fox killed her mother? A cat killed mine--should I distrust cats!? We've taken in rogues before, why not a fox!? She hissed angrily as she strode out of the camp, leaping into a flying run across the land.
