Silverstar streched her slim, silver, body to awaken herself. She poked her head out of the curtin of lichen covering the enterance to her den. She put one paw out and then her whole body, the sun was bright on her eyes and she squinted looking for her deputy.

Beecheyes was sitting in the center of camp, finishing the remains of a mouse. He saw Silverstar stride out of her den, and padded over to her. "Hello, Silverstar." He said, dipping his head respectfully.

She meowed, "Good day to you too. I sented badger yesterday and I was wondering if you would come with me to see if it is still there." She sat down her silver tail swishing and then wraped around her. She let a yawn escape her muzzle, I guess i'm still not entirely up yet, she thought. Silverstar blinked her beautyful green eyes.

"Sure." Beecheyes said. He needed to get out a camp for a little bit. He gave a quick stretch. His muscles were a bit stiff and sore, from a mock fight the day before. "Do you want to go now?"

Silverstar nodded curtly, " Yes I would like to go now. Just let me eat a little first." she padded over to the fresh-kill pile that was larger than ever, she picked out a nice sized fish. She ate the shimmering fish in about two or three bites. Still hungery she just took one more piece of fresh-kill, this time she grabbed a smaller mouse and ate it in about a bite. She streched and walked back over to her deputy.

"Are you ready?" Beecheyes asked, anxious to go. Badgers left unchecked for too long tended to get a little wild. He didn't want any attacks on the camp.

"Yes." she stated simply then started to wonder, what if we do find a badger and need more protection, "Should we bring others?" she asked in a worried tone, "What if we DO find a badger and need it dead?"

"Good idea." Beecheyes said. "Do you have anyone in mind?" His green eyes darkened, thinking.

"Maybe, Swindlefoot?" she asked, she licked her right forepaw, and rubbed her ears with it.

Beecheyes nodded. "I'll go get her." He walked over to the warriors den, stuck his head in, and said "Swindlefoot?"
The pretty warrior raised her head. "Yes?"
"We're going to check out a badger. Come on."
Swindlefoot followed the deputy out of the den.

Silverstar nodded and walked over to the camp enterance and swished her tail signaling her deputy and warriors to follow her.

Beecheyes and Swindlefoot wordlessly followeed their leader. Both looked grim. The mentioning of a badger didn't put anyone in a happy mood.

Silverstar turned her head around her green eyes looking at the hints of worry on her warrior's faces. She purred, trying to be optomistic, "If we find one we have many warriors, the badger will be running scared." she turned her head back and walked over the small landbridge that was the camp enterance and exit. She put one paw in front of the other and sented the air. The air smelled of fish, flowers, and plenty of rabbits, squirrels and mice. She meowed, "We could hunt a little for the fresh-kill pile, it has been a little lacking recently." she swished her tail and kept walking.

Beecheyes nodded. "Yes, the pile is a bit low." His emerald eyes gazed around, looking for anything unusual. Swindlefoot scented the air.
